Whether you’ve misplaced your original unminified code or are working with minified code from another developer, this free unminify tool can help you restore readability.

What Is minified code ?

Developers write code with readability in mind—adding comments, line breaks, and explanations to make it easier to understand. However, these elements are unnecessary for browsers and can slow down page loading. Minification removes these extra characters, reducing file sizes and improving load times without affecting functionality.

How to use this tool ?

Add Your Code:
  • Copy and paste** a minified code snippet into the input field.
  • Or click "UPLOAD"** to select and upload a code file (2Mb Max)

No uploaded file is kept on the server. So, you do not have to worry about your privacy.

Unminify the Code:
  • Click the **"UNMINIFY"** button to instantly expand your minified code into a readable format.

If other content than css, js or json is pasted or uploaded, the unminify tool will not do anything and return the content as it was uploaded or pasted into the editor.

Save or Use the Result:
  • Click **"DOWNLOAD"** to save the unminified code as a new file.
  • Click **"TO CLIPBOARD"** to copy the expanded code to your clipboard (May take a few seconds on certain browsers)
  • Use the **"CLEAR"** button to start fresh with new code.
